Our therapeutic fostering model is overseen by a highly skilled and qualified Clinical Lead who leads a team of clinical specialists who work alongside the social work staff and foster carers.

The MATS Therapeutic Fostering team is here to provide expert support and guidance to the network around the child.
Support to foster carers
Foster carers who have a child placed under the MATS Therapeutic Fostering Service will receive weekly clinical support by a member of the MATS team. This support is in addition to the support provided by the Supervising Social Worker and is to support the foster carer’s ability to thoughtfully manage the young person and to enable them to effectively support the young person’s therapy.
Support to the network
The MATS clinician and/or Clinical Lead will attend/facilitate regular network meetings, advising the network and ensuring the child’s therapeutic needs are central to the care and decision making.
