Fostering in Ashford
We are Foster Care UK, an independent fostering agency, and we’re looking for new foster carers to work with us in Ashford. We work with various local authorities, including Kent county council and Ashford local council, to provide vital fostering services to children and young people who need a home but can’t live with their families. We are especially eager to hear from people with the space in their homes and hearts to become a foster carer for parent and child placements.
Anyone can become a foster parent. You don’t need any previous experience and at Foster Care UK we aim to make the application process as simple as possible – we know how daunting it can all seem. We don’t discriminate against race, gender, sexual orientation or any other aspect. All we ask for is that you are able to provide a safe and loving environment for a child or young person and are willing to invest time into their care and development.
Starting your fostering journey is as easy as filling out an online form, or giving our South East office a call. However you decide to contact us you will then be visited by a Form F Assessor. The Form F Assessment gives us a change to meet with you and your family – and learn more about your home – to confirm that you can provide everything required to be a foster parent. These include a spare room – which is vital – and a loving and caring attitude. A good sense of humour goes a long way too!

Once you’ve met the requirements needed for a foster placement, you’ll work closely with a supervising social worker who will be able to tell your more about fostering and answer any questions you may have about becoming a foster parent. At Foster Care UK we don’t believe that anyone should go through the fostering application process alone.
We have already mentioned that you don’t need to be experienced to foster a child. That is because we will provide all the training and support you need – even after your foster placement begins. You’ll be given the opportunity to meet existing foster parents and find out about their fostering experiences. You will also be supported by our professional south England team who will offer advice, as well as provide services for you and the child or young person in your care. These include therapeutic fostering services for those who have experience trauma and have specific care needs, maintenance allowances to help cover the costs of fostering and more.
If you decide that you want to foster you’ll be providing the local Ashford area with an incredible service and will be changing the lives of children and young people in need. You can find out more about becoming a foster carer by getting in touch with our Kent fostering office – where we can provide more information about fostering and help guide you through the process. We look forward to hearing from all future foster carers!
